The PSI63C0.747-W1 medium-frequency inverter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts a fixed industrial mains supply into a controllable medium-frequency output for induction heaters, spindle motors, and other loads that require adjustable electrical energy in automated equipment. By regulating voltage and frequency, the unit allows process power to be adjusted electronically without relying on mechanical speed-control systems. This control supports accurate operation in machining cells, heat-treatment lines, and similar industrial installations. Closed-loop regulation also allows the inverter to respond to changing load conditions while maintaining the commanded output.
Thermal management relies on a water-cooled jacket, allowing the inverter to dissipate up to 420 W of internal heat while reducing the amount of heat released into the cabinet air. The power section accepts a three-phase supply of 400–480 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz, making it compatible with common industrial distribution networks without an autotransformer. Its IP20 protection class protects against accidental finger contact with live parts. Because IP20 does not provide protection from water, the inverter must be installed inside a suitable enclosure. Installation planning should account for the required conductor capacity, cooling-water flow, cabinet ventilation, and protection from contaminants. An integrated auxiliary supply delivers 24 VDC at up to 2 A, providing power for compatible sensors, contactors, or fieldbus nodes without a separate power module. The inverter is suitable for climatic category 3K3, which corresponds to operation in lightly conditioned industrial areas with moderate climatic variation. Continuous operation is permitted within an ambient temperature range of +10 to +55 °C. During storage or transportation, the acceptable temperature range extends from -25 to +70 °C. The inverter exchanges timing data through an Ethernet-based timer interface, supporting coordinated operation with connected automation controls. Its steel housing weighs 25 kg, so the cabinet structure and mounting hardware must provide adequate support during installation and operation.
