Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactured the PSI63C0.747-L2 as part of its PSI Frequency Inverters series. The device is a medium-frequency inverter that converts three-phase industrial mains power into regulated medium-frequency power for induction heating, brazing, and similar automated processes. An onboard Ethernet-driven timer coordinates output pulses with external motion sequences, allowing machinery to synchronize power delivery without additional gating hardware.

The mains section accepts 480–690 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz and maintains operation at 500 V with a −15%/+10% tolerance, allowing connection to high-voltage distribution panels. The nominal current draw is 110 A, while startup or fault-clearing conditions can momentarily produce 800 A on the primary bus. IGBT stages switch the power at 1 kHz, and this frequency also clocks the internal control logic. An air-cooled heat sink keeps the semiconductor temperature stable, aided by a permitted cooling-air temperature of up to 45 °C and compliance with climatic category 3K3 under EN 60721-3-3. The IP20 protection rating guards against contact with hazardous internal parts but requires installation inside a switch cabinet. A separate 24 V DC logic supply and an integrated 24 V DC, 2 A auxiliary source isolate the control boards from the high-energy power path.

Total inverter cooling losses peak at 360 W, while baseline switch-cabinet dissipation is 100 W and may rise to 200 W when current reaches the upper duty-cycle range. Integrated temperature monitoring shuts down the unit if the heat sink or surrounding air exceeds the operating range of +10 to +55 °C. Storage and transportation are permitted at temperatures from −25 to +70 °C. The assembly maintains its full ratings at altitudes up to 2000 m, with derating required above that elevation. The frame weighs 21 kg, which supports secure cabinet mounting without placing excessive load on the mounting structure.
