The PSI63C0.737-L2 frequency inverter is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. In automated cells, it converts fixed three-phase mains power into a variable output so production motors can accelerate, decelerate, and hold speed according to the PLC profile. Designed for cabinet installation, the unit combines its power stage and control electronics in one housing and serves as the main drive interface between the plant supply and the motion axis.

Internally, the inverter switches at 1 kHz to generate smooth motor voltage while keeping conducted noise manageable. Protection is rated IP 20, and climate class 3K3 limits the unit to clean indoor cabinet environments. Forced-air cooling removes heat, and integrated sensors support temperature monitoring during operation. The built-in supply provides 24 VDC at up to 2 A for relays or sensors, so a separate converter is not required for those auxiliary loads. Incoming conductors must carry 110 A, which is also the nominal system current, while connection hardware requires a minimum conductor cross-section of 35 mm² and the terminals accept cables up to 50 mm². Surge energy is absorbed by an MOV network to protect the input stage from transient overvoltage.

On the motor side, the inverter can supply 800 A continuously, and the same current level applies to the primary conductor set feeding the intermediate circuit. For high-current welding transformers connected through a PSG3100 adapter, secondary current peaks can reach 36 kA. Heat produced at these load levels appears in the cabinet loss data, with a basic cabinet loss of 100 W and a rise to 200 W at maximum current. Additional thermal figures include 420 W for maximum cooling losses and 360 W for ventilating and cooling loss. Operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 45 °C and at elevations up to 2000 m without derating.
