Product Description:
The PSI63C0.735-W2 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts a plant's three-phase supply into a regulated medium-frequency output for induction power supplies and related automation loads. Housed in a water-cooled cabinet, the unit forms a compact power stage that communicates with higher-level controllers through a PROFINET/Ethernet network and 24 V digital I/O. This arrangement suits induction heating systems that need stable power conversion, cabinet integration, and direct network-based control in automated lines.
The inverter accepts a line voltage of 480–690 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz and draws a rated mains current of 110 A, so upstream protection and cabling can follow standard low-voltage practice. During hard saturation, the primary side can rise to 800 A, while the integrated transformer can supply up to 36 kA on the secondary circuit for the work coil. These limits set the thermal and magnetic margins of connected bus bars. A multicore TriCore processor handles PWM generation, phase balancing, and fault diagnostics while exchanging real-time data over PROFINET/Ethernet and the 24 V control segment. Standby cabinet heat dissipation starts at 100 W and rises to 140 W at the maximum firing angle, so continuous coolant flow is necessary during operation.
The cooling system uses water cooling; a minimum flow of 4 l/min through the plate exchanger limits internal temperature and creates only 0.1 bar of pressure drop at that rate. Semiconductor modules, chokes, and capacitors can release up to 420 W, and the coolant removes this heat from the enclosure. Because the coolant circuit serves the main heat-producing components directly, internal temperatures remain more stable during extended duty cycles and frequent load changes. Installation rules specify at least 35 mm² conductors on the line side while maintaining insulation clearances for the 24 V wiring and Ethernet-based timer circuitry. With a mass of 25 kg, the inverter mounts in standard bay cabinets, and front-access fieldbus ports simplify setup.
