Product Description:
The PSI63C0.734-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It provides the controlled power stage for automated induction heating, brazing, and forging equipment used in industrial production. By rectifying three-phase mains and generating adjustable kilohertz currents, it supplies resonant tank circuits so machines can heat workpieces with repeatable energy profiles under PLC supervision.
It operates from a three-phase input range of 400 – 480 VAC, allowing connection to standard plant mains. Under nominal conditions, the converter draws 110 A, while a reinforced DC bus lets the unit momentarily accept 800 A of primary current so short heating pulses can reach peak power without saturation. On the secondary side, the matching transformer can be driven up to 36 kA, giving useful headroom for large work coils. Power wiring must use a minimum conductor cross-section of 35 mm² to manage these currents and limit resistive losses. Heat generated in the power stack is removed by a closed-loop water channel, and housing dimensions of 448 mm in height, 239 mm in width, and 280 mm in depth fit standard 600 mm cabinets. The 25 kg mass remains manageable with appropriate lifting aids. I/O supervision is handled by a TriCore CPU that exchanges process data through an RJ-45 Ethernet interface, while an internal EtherNet timer coordinates high-resolution firing sequences.
During continuous operation, the enclosure dissipates 69 W into the switchgear cabinet, and at maximum output current the loss rises to 110 W. The cooling circuit must supply 4 l/min of water, which produces a pressure drop of 0.1 bar and keeps semiconductor junctions within acceptable limits. An IP20 degree of protection identifies this inverter for installation inside a closed electrical cabinet away from conductive contaminants. The water-cooling arrangement helps move thermal load out of the power stack while keeping the cabinet layout straightforward.
