Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the PSI63C0.734-L2 as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Classified as a medium-frequency inverter, the unit converts high-voltage three-phase mains power into controlled medium-frequency output for automated resistance welding and induction heating stations. It is installed inside machine cabinets, where it interfaces with programmable weld timers, secondary transformers, and fieldbus networks to deliver a regulated current profile for repeatable thermal energy delivery in high-duty production lines. It also works with plant PLCs to coordinate power stages with conveyor or robot motion.
The inverter accepts a three-phase supply between 480–690 VAC, rectifies it, and drives the H-bridge to deliver up to 800 A of primary output current. On the secondary side of the welding transformer, the design supports a peak of 36 kA, enabling short weld times without overheating electrodes. Continuous production is based on a nominal system current of 110 A, which sets the electrical load for normal operation. The enclosure has an IP20 protection class, which helps prevent accidental contact while still allowing airflow for cabinet installation.
Switching elements operate at a carrier frequency of 1 kHz, giving close control of the medium-frequency waveform while keeping electromagnetic noise manageable. Heat generated by the semiconductors results in 200 W of cabinet loss at rated power, and the forced-air cooling path can dissipate up to 360 W under maximum cooling loss conditions. The air-cooled design remains effective at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C, allowing operation in hot welding cells. A 24 V DC weld timer supply, MOV overvoltage clamps, three-phase topology, and 50 mm² input terminals support integration with EtherNet-based timers and 35 mm² output wiring.
