The PSI63C0.731-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. The device modulates the voltage and frequency of a three-phase supply so induction heating generators, high-speed spindles, or other resonant loads receive the precise electrical profile required for efficient operation. Its internal architecture combines a mains rectifier, a regulated DC link, and an integrated control timer that connects through an Ethernet interface, allowing the unit to operate within distributed automation networks.
The inverter accepts an input of 400–480 VAC in industrial plants and synchronizes with grid cycles at 50 or 60 Hz, eliminating the need for auxiliary transformers. Thermal energy generated by the power electronics is removed by a water-cooled heat exchanger; this arrangement keeps the enclosure compact and limits internal temperature gradients. Electrical components are shielded from accidental contact by the IP20 housing, making the assembly suitable for installation inside a control cabinet with forced ventilation. During storage or transportation, it withstands temperatures from −25 to +70 °C without damage to the electrolytic capacitors.
