Product Description:
The Bosch Rexroth Indramat PSI63C0.731-L1 belongs to the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It is a medium-frequency inverter intended for industrial automation tasks that require controlled power conversion between the AC supply and secondary induction circuits. This arrangement suits applications such as induction heating and transformer excitation rather than standard variable-speed motor control. By modulating its output at medium frequencies, the unit supplies process energy while monitoring internal temperature to protect power devices.
This inverter is housed in an IP 20 enclosure and is designed for TN or TT line systems with an input range of 400 – 480 VAC. Under normal operation, the power stage can deliver a maximum output of 800 A, and it can tolerate up to 36 kA for fast current peaks on the secondary winding. The nominal system current is 110 A, and metal-oxide varistors provide MOV-based overvoltage protection on the DC link. This protection helps reduce stress on internal components during switching events and line disturbances. The power electronics are air-cooled, and the enclosure releases 69 W of heat that must be removed by surrounding airflow.
An ambient temperature of 55 °C is the upper operating limit, and operation above this value can cause derating despite the integrated temperature monitoring. Installation requires a clearance of 100 mm above and below the heat sink so the cooling path remains unobstructed. Wiring uses copper conductors up to 50 mm² on the line terminals and 35 mm² on the control terminals, which supports proper current handling at the connection points. The timer interface uses EtherNet for remote supervision. Internally, the inverter switches its power devices at a carrier frequency of 1 kHz, which balances efficiency with manageable electromagnetic emissions.
