Product Description:
The PSI63C0.730-W2 medium-frequency inverter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase mains power into a controlled medium-frequency output for welding, induction heating, and other industrial processes that require tightly regulated energy transfer. Its integrated water cooling allows installation in electrical cabinets without the large air ducts required by forced-air cooling systems.
The inverter accepts a three-phase input of 480–690 VAC at line frequencies of 50/60 Hz. Its IGBT switching stage operates with a control clock of 1 kHz and produces a maximum output current of 800 A for heating cycles. Cabinet heat dissipation at full power is limited to 140 W, while total cooling losses remain below 500 W. The inverter section accounts for approximately 420 W when the required water circuit is maintained. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, so the unit must be installed in a closed panel with 100 mm of clearance. Its internal 24 VDC supply can provide up to 2 A for relays or encoders. The screw terminals accept conductors up to 50 mm², and the recommended conductor size is 35 mm².
The secondary circuit can deliver peak currents of 36 kA, making the inverter suitable for high-energy spot-welding transformers. Continuous operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C when the water loop maintains a flow rate of 4 L/min. Cooling water must enter at no more than 30 °C through the M16 × 1.5 threaded connections. The inverter weighs 25 kg and requires mounting hardware capable of supporting its mass securely. It meets climatic class 3K3 under EN 60721-3-3 and can be stored at temperatures from -25 °C to +70 °C. The built-in Ethernet-based timer supports communication with compatible Rexroth controllers, while the nominal system current of 110 A suits many medium-frequency welding stations.
