Product Description:
The PSI63C0.730-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase mains energy into a regulated medium-frequency output for induction heaters, shrink-fit stations, and similar automated processes. By delivering controlled current and frequency, the unit supports repeatable thermal or electromagnetic treatment within production cells. Its cabinet-mounted format also helps keep power paths short and places the inverter close to the connected load.
It accepts a three-phase supply of 400–480 VAC and draws a nominal system current of 110 A during continuous heat cycles. Internally, a carrier frequency of 1 kHz shapes the output waveform, while the control electronics run from a separate 24 V DC supply that keeps logic isolated from the power bus. When a fast pulse sequence from an external PLC is needed, the EtherNet timer interface synchronizes firing commands. Surge events on the mains are clamped by an MOV, and the output bridges are rated for up to 800 A RMS without derating. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, and 50 mm² bus terminals allow direct connection of copper bars in industrial cabinets.
For safe thermal operation, the inverter can be installed as long as the surrounding air does not exceed 55 °C, and the cooling air drawn through the heat sinks must remain below 45 °C. An air-cooled design removes 360 W of heat from the power stage, while cabinet dissipation at maximum load adds only 170 W to the enclosure. A clearance of 100 mm above and below the unit is necessary to prevent recirculation, and the built-in airflow sensor disables operation if passages are blocked. During transient forging or melting pulses, the output transformer may deliver a secondary current of 36 kA without tripping protection. Field wiring with a cross-section of up to 35 mm² fits the clamp connectors.
