Product Description:
The PSI63C0.727-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It is designed for industrial induction heating and similar processes that require precisely regulated medium-frequency power. The unit converts standard three-phase plant mains into a controlled high-frequency output for resonant or transformer-coupled loads. Integration into automated cells is simplified by built-in Ethernet communication and by control logic that runs on a TriCore CPU.
The inverter accepts a supply window of 400 – 480 VAC, allowing it to operate on common low-voltage distribution networks. Under nominal conditions, it draws 110 A, while the input stage is dimensioned for surges up to 800 A during startup or arc stabilization. The power section operates at a primary voltage frequency of 1 kHz, helping the downstream matching circuit deliver the required magnetic flux without excessive core loss. Voltage stability is maintained even when the plant bus drops by -15 % at 400 V or rises by +10 % at 480 V. Phase monitoring, overcurrent gating, and diagnostic reporting are handled by the TriCore processor, and command exchange with the main PLC travels through the integrated Ethernet interface.
The output transformer can supply up to 36 kA of secondary current, so the connection conductors must meet the minimum cross-section of 35 mm² stated for the input terminals. To promote airflow through the air-cooled heat sink, the cabinet layout requires 100 mm of vertical clearance, and the inverter has an overall height of 463 mm for standard rack alignment. During idle periods, the electronics dissipate only 69 W, yet thermal load rises to 170 W when primary current reaches its maximum value. These values can be used to size enclosure cooling and ventilation for continuous operation.
