Product Description:
The PSI63C0.725-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. The unit converts three-phase utility power into a controllable medium-frequency output for induction heating, brazing, and other fast-energy industrial tasks. By varying the current delivered to work coils, the inverter provides precise thermal input while interfacing with higher-level automation controllers through its Ethernet-enabled timing functions.
Internally, a pulse width modulation stage operates at a clock frequency of 1 kHz, establishing the switching rhythm that shapes the output waveform. The power section accepts a mains input between 400 – 480 VAC, while auxiliary electronics draw control energy from a 24 V DC I/O supply. Copper busbars sized for a 35 mm² connection cross-section link the module to plant power, and metal-oxide varistors provide overvoltage protection. When the primary circuit conducts up to 800 A, the integrated medium-frequency transformer can supply a secondary current that peaks at 36 kA for short welding pulses. All components are enclosed within an IP20 housing, so the inverter must be cabinet mounted with a minimum clearance of 100 mm on all sides. The internal timer exchanges process triggers over Ethernet, and water ports with M16 × 1.5 threads support the dedicated cooling loop.
Heat generated by the switching stage is removed through a water-cooled plate that requires a flow of 4 L/min and an inlet temperature not exceeding 30 °C to keep semiconductor junctions within limits. Continuous operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C, provided that the specified cooling parameters and clearance are maintained. Under steady-state conditions, the mains line draws a rated current of 110 A, allowing upstream protection devices to be sized accurately. These thermal, electrical, and hydraulic limits establish the safe working range when the inverter is integrated into automated heating or joining stations.
