The PSI63C0.715-L1 frequency inverter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. As a medium-frequency inverter, it converts three-phase mains power into controllable outputs for induction heating, high-speed spindle drives, and other automation tasks that require adjustable kilohertz power. The unit integrates its own 24 V control supply and mounts in electrical cabinets where space and service access are limited. Within an industrial cell, it acts as the central power stage between the facility supply and the machine tool’s resonant load.
Mains compatibility spans 400–480 VAC, allowing direct connection to common factory distribution systems. The input operates with either a 50 or 60 Hz line frequency, so regional supply differences do not affect operation. Once energized, the internal logic and I/O are powered by a regulated 24 VDC rail drawn from the integrated supply section. Downstream sensors or relays can consume a maximum of 2 A from this rail. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, providing protection against accidental finger contact while requiring cabinet installation in areas exposed to dust or splashing water. Air cooling carries heat away through top-mounted fans and baffles.
The thermal system accommodates 360 W of cooling losses, so the panel must provide unobstructed airflow for continuous heat dissipation through the heat sink. Reliable operation is permitted within a temperature range of +10 to +55 °C, while storage or transit temperatures may extend down to -25 °C without damaging the unit. The inverter meets climatic class 3K3 according to EN 60721-3-3, allowing operation under moderate humidity and noncondensing atmospheric conditions. Despite the integrated power supply and fans, the unit has a mass of 20 kg, which makes cabinet placement and mounting more manageable. A dedicated Ethernet timer interface provides diagnostic timing signals to higher-level controllers. These signals allow the connected control system to monitor timing behavior during machine operation without interrupting the inverter’s power output.
