Product Description:
The PSI63C0.660-W2 medium-frequency inverter is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Installed between the plant mains and induction coils, it shapes high-voltage AC into a controllable medium-frequency output so automated stations can apply accurate thermal energy during brazing, welding, or surface hardening operations. The unit is intended for production equipment that requires short, repeatable heating pulses and tightly controlled process timing. Control logic is handled by a TriCore CPU, and eight digital inputs plus eight transistor outputs are provided for machine signals.
On the supply side, the inverter accepts a three-phase mains range of 480 – 690 VAC and draws a nominal line current of 110 A during operation. Internal conversion stages dissipate a cabinet basic loss of 100 W, while the water-cooled heat exchanger can absorb up to 420 W of cooling losses generated during full-load cycling. Cable routing is sized for a minimum conductor cross-section of 35 mm² on the mains side, and the terminals accept lugs up to 50 mm² for secure power connections. The coolant loop connects through an M16 × 1.5 thread and must deliver at least 4 L/min to keep component temperatures in range. With this hydraulic assistance, the unit maintains a pressure drop of 0.1 bar at the stated flow rate.
At elevated duty levels, cabinet dissipation rises to 140 W, and the power section can conduct up to 800 A on the primary side. When paired with a PSG 3100 transformer, secondary current peaks at 36 kA, giving substantial headroom for short heating pulses in cycle-controlled processes. Command and diagnostic data share a single DeviceNet channel that serves both the I/O bus and the internal timer, reducing wiring complexity while retaining deterministic control behavior. Pressure across the coolant circuit stays low, so the required minimum flow is not significantly restricted by the inverter itself.
