Product Description:
The PSI63C0.637-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter from Bosch Rexroth Indramat that belongs to the PSI Frequency Inverters series. In welding, induction heating, and other automation tasks that require precise mid-range power conversion, this unit supplies controlled high-current output to a resonant load while accepting three-phase mains power. Its integrated water circuit removes heat from the power electronics so the inverter can maintain rated performance inside machine cabinets with limited airflow.
Under idle conditions, the inverter dissipates 69 W in cabinet losses, and this rises to 110 W when it delivers its nominal line current of 110 A. It connects to three-phase supplies between 400–480 VAC and can deliver peaks up to 800 A on the primary side to fire the welding transformer without saturation. The water-cooled design limits additional thermal load to a maximum of 360 W removed by the heat exchanger, while the internal sequence controller runs at a standard 1 kHz to synchronize firing pulses. A pressure feedback watchdog stops the cycle after 5 seconds if flow is lost, and a 24 VDC stop circuit rated at 3 A allows a safety relay to open the weld contactor independently of the main control bus.
Main power enters through terminal blocks that accept conductors up to 50 mm², and the minimum recommended cross-section is 35 mm² to keep bus losses low. The cooling circuit operates with at least 4 l/min of water and produces only 0.1 bar of pressure drop across the inverter channels, so conventional plant chillers can support the loop. Ethernet/IP is available for parameter access, while a DeviceNet timer coordinates weld sequences with external PLCs. The enclosure weighs 25 kg, allowing panel mounting without structural reinforcement in most sheet-metal cabinets.
