Product Description:
The PSI63C0.632-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase utility power into a regulated medium-frequency output for heating, welding, and other energy-intensive processes that require tightly controlled electrical power. The unit accepts an input of 400 to 480 VAC from industrial mains and is compatible with line frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz. This input range allows the inverter to operate with common industrial power systems without requiring a separate frequency converter.
A pulse-width-modulated bridge switches at 1 kHz, which establishes the fundamental timing for the generated output waveform. Nominal operation is rated at 110 A, while short bursts can reach a maximum output of 800 A, providing sufficient headroom for transient load spikes. The control electronics draw power from an external 24 V DC rail, and an onboard 24 V DC, 2 A auxiliary source is available for peripheral circuits. Forced-air cooling removes heat from the inverter, with the heat sink able to dissipate 360 W and the basic cabinet adding 69 W to the thermal load. Metal-oxide varistors suppress overvoltage conditions, while integrated temperature monitoring protects the power components during abnormal operation.
The enclosure must accommodate an additional power loss of 170 W, which is the maximum dissipation that can occur inside the cabinet housing the inverter. The casing has an IP20 protection rating, providing protection against finger contact but not against liquids. The inverter should remain in a clean, dry control room that meets the 3K3 climatic category. Rated service is maintained at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C; operation above this temperature requires derating. Storage is permitted from -25 °C to +70 °C, and 35 mm² terminals accommodate the power wiring. A DeviceNet timer interface supports coordinated sequencing tasks with connected automation equipment. The unit has a mass of 20 kg, which reduces the structural load placed on the mounting panel.
