Product Description:
The PSI63C0.620-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for induction heating, welding, and other processes that call for regulated mid-range kilohertz power, the unit converts three-phase mains energy into a controlled medium-frequency output for transformer-coupled loads in industrial automation. This supports repeatable power delivery in applications where the electrical load can change during the process cycle.
The inverter connects to a three-phase supply rated at 400 - 480 VAC, allowing installation on common plant distribution systems. Under nominal load, it draws 110 A, so conductors of at least 35 mm² cross-section and lugs matched to the 50 mm² terminals are required. Heat produced by the electronics is extracted through a water-cooled plate; basic cabinet dissipation is 69 W, but the liquid circuit must also carry dynamic switching heat. A manifold with M16 × 1.5 threads routes coolant, and the pump must guarantee a minimum flow of 4 l/min so the power stage stays within safe junction limits. These electrical and cooling requirements affect cable selection, coolant routing, and enclosure layout.
For overload events, the line side can supply up to 800 A primary current, and the matching medium-frequency transformer can reflect peaks of 36 kA on its secondary, giving the system the headroom required for short, high-power pulses. A Bosch Rexroth TriCore processor supervises these transients, executing modulation and protective routines while a programmable timer based on DeviceNet synchronizes with the cell controller. Parameter sets can be loaded through the V24 or USB port, which simplifies access to operating data and setup values. At maximum conduction, the cooling circuit may absorb 360 W and cabinet losses rise to 110 W, so the enclosure should provide 100 mm of clearance around 3 mm gaskets to maintain airflow to auxiliary components.
