Product Description:
The PSI63C0.177-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for induction heating, shrink-fit, and similar processes, the unit converts standard plant power into a controllable medium-frequency output for precise thermal profiles. It integrates a power stage, gate drive, and digital supervision so machine builders can embed regulated energy delivery without adding discrete controllers. In factory automation cells, the inverter couples the mains supply to the work coil while coordinating power flow under programmable logic control.
Internal dissipation is limited to 170 W of cabinet losses, which helps determine ventilation needs and prevent heat buildup around neighboring electronics. The unit is air cooled, so ambient airflow rather than liquid circuits removes that heat. A TriCore processor executes gating sequences and fault monitoring, allowing fast arithmetic for dynamic power regulation. Input compatibility spans 400 to 480 VAC three-phase lines, enabling operation on common industrial supply voltages without a transformer change. Conductors that feed the inverter can be as small as 35 mm², which is useful when cabinet space is tight. Control wiring is standardized as 24 V discrete I/O, and the same 24 VDC rail supplies the logic section. Enclosure dimensions of 280 mm depth, 239 mm width, and 463 mm height let the frame fit into IEC 600 × 600 mm cabinets with clearance.
On the power path, the inverter can draw a nominal mains current of 110 A and withstand peaks up to 800 A on the primary side while delivering coil currents as high as 36 kA through its resonant output transformer. The design is classified as an MF inverter power unit, and timing functions share the 24 V timer circuit already present in control cabinets. Power lugs accept cables up to 50 mm², matching the thermal limits of the bus bars. The housing is rated IP20, so it must be mounted inside a closed electrical enclosure. Despite its high current capability, the assembly weighs 20 kg, which helps simplify mounting and handling inside the enclosure.
