Bosch Rexroth Indramat produces the PSI63C0.147-L1 inverter within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It is a medium-frequency inverter that converts a three-phase mains supply into controlled medium-frequency power for induction heating, welding, or similar automation tasks. The enclosure combines power electronics with a dedicated control processor, making the unit a compact cabinet-mounted component for applications that require stable frequency modulation and precise energy delivery.

The inverter accepts a mains window of 400 – 480 VAC and is designed for 3-phase grids, allowing direct connection to common plant distribution panels. Internally, a TriCore CPU manages gating and protection, and its program capacity stores up to 256 steps for user sequences. The power stage can modulate output up to 1 kHz, supporting inductive loads that need rapid field reversal. Thermal design uses an air-cooled path, and the basic cabinet heat loss is 69 W during steady operation. Installation also requires at least 100 mm of unobstructed clearance around the ventilation points and field wiring with conductors no smaller than 35 mm² to limit resistive voltage drop.

During peak duty, the heat sink dissipates 360 W, a value used when sizing cabinet airflow and checking allowable ambient temperature. The power terminals accept cable lugs up to 50 mm², and the integrated 24 VDC auxiliary supply can provide 2 A maximum for peripheral sensors. Discrete control is handled through a 24 V timer circuit and a 24 V discrete I/O rack, while the stop circuit is rated at 24 VDC / 3 A for interruption of torch or coil contactors. This arrangement lets external process controls command timed output events and standard discrete signals from the same unit. Logic support extends to electrode arrays with as many as 32 positions. Despite these features, the inverter weighs only 20 kg, which helps keep panel mounting manageable.
