Product Description:
The PSI6300.736-L1 is a medium frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. This unit converts standard factory mains into a controllable medium-frequency output. That output can drive induction furnaces, soldering stations, or other process loads directly from the automation system.
It accepts a three-phase supply of 400 – 480 VAC, which is rectified and switched at a clock frequency of 1 kHz by the three-phase MF inverter bridge. During nominal operation, the unit delivers 110 A, while peaks up to 800 A are available for transient load steps. Thermal limits are set by an ambient temperature ceiling of 55 °C and a fan-cowl temperature cap of 45 °C, and the air-cooled design keeps semiconductor junctions within range. The enclosure provides an IP20 protection level and is mounted recessed inside control panels located no higher than 2000 m above sea level. Surge stresses on the DC link are absorbed by MOV devices, and a separate 24 V DC control supply feeds the gating and monitoring circuits.
For downstream equipment, the inverter can energize a matching PSG 3100 transformer, where a maximum secondary current of 36 kA supports induction coils with very low impedance. Internal switchgear contributes at most 170 W of additional power loss, so cabinet ventilation requirements remain moderate during sustained cycles. Power terminals accept conductors up to 50 mm², while control wiring is limited to 35 mm², enabling straightforward segregation of high-current and signal paths inside the enclosure. Cycle coordination with plant networks is handled by the built-in EtherNet timer function, allowing precise burst lengths without external relays or programmable controllers.
