Product Description:
The PSI6300.642-L1 is a Medium Frequency Inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for cabinet installation, it converts three-phase utility power into controlled medium-frequency outputs that drive induction heaters, weld transformers, or other process equipment in automated production lines. Integrated control electronics let the inverter run user-defined sequences and coordinate with plant PLCs, providing a single package for both power conversion and process timing.
On the supply side, the inverter accepts 400 – 480 VAC three-phase input and draws a nominal mains current of 110 A during rated operation. For short energy bursts, the primary bus can withstand 800 A, and the secondary circuit can deliver up to 36 kA into the connected transformer, providing headroom for pulse-heating cycles. The internal H-bridge switches at a sequence frequency of 1000 Hz, enabling precise control of output power. Control wiring uses a discrete 24 V level, while DeviceNet slave I/O links the unit to plant controllers. Field connections are accommodated on terminals that accept conductors up to 50 mm². A stop circuit rated for 24 VDC at 3 A allows immediate disabling of the output stage. Application logic is stored in battery-buffered RAM, and up to 256 individual programs can be retained. Timing of these programs is governed by a DeviceNet timer, and an integrated temperature monitor protects semiconductors from overload.
Thermal management uses air cooling, and the enclosure carries a protection rating of IP20, which is suitable for mounting inside a cabinet. Under full electrical load, the power section produces 360 W of cooling losses that must be exhausted by the cabinet airflow. Even when idle, the control electronics dissipate 69 W, rising to 170 W at maximum duty cycle. The switch-mode design keeps these losses localized, allowing forced-air channels to remove heat without liquid circuits while maintaining stable component temperatures over continuous duty.
