The PSI6300.627-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Installed between the plant mains and an induction heating coil or similar load, the unit converts fixed three-phase power into adjustable medium-frequency output that a controller can modulate in real time. This allows automation cells to deliver controlled thermal or magnetic energy while limiting harmonic content on the supply side.

Thermal management is handled by water cooling. A threaded M16×1.5 port connects the inverter to the cooling loop, where a minimum flow of 4 l/min keeps internal silicon junctions below their design limit and restricts pressure drop to 0.1 bar. Base dissipation with the inverter energized but unloaded is 69 W. Under rated power, cabinet loss rises to 110 W because of the electronic components governed by the Standard CPU and supervised through a DeviceNet I/O interface. During operation, the unit draws a mains nominal current of 110 A from a three-phase source in the 400–480 VAC range. The onboard DeviceNet timer tracks process cycles without external relays, and the enclosure remains sealed because coolant carries heat away through the exchanger instead of releasing it into the surrounding air.

Electrical connections are sized for heavy transient duty. The heat exchanger can absorb up to 420 W of cooling losses when the inverter operates at maximum apparent power. Primary conductors may reach 800 A, and in welding applications paired with a PSG 3100 transformer, the secondary circuit can deliver 36 kA to the workpiece. Busbar lugs inside the terminal chamber accept cable shoes up to 50 mm², while feeders no smaller than 35 mm² help maintain an acceptable temperature rise. With a mass of 25 kg, the assembly mounts directly into a water-cooled control cabinet beside other PSI modules, which helps limit enclosure heating.
