The PSI6300.370-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Within automated production lines, it converts fixed utility power into controlled medium-frequency energy for induction heating, welding, or hardening tasks that require precise thermal regulation. The unit combines power conversion, monitoring, and fieldbus communication in one enclosure, allowing thermal processes to operate as part of programmable machine sequences without separate controllers. This integrated arrangement also reduces the number of individual control components required within the electrical cabinet.
The inverter connects to a three-phase supply rated at 400–480 VAC and draws up to 110 A while accepting line frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz. A rectifier section tolerates 800 A of primary current and, when used with a PSG 3100 transformer, delivers secondary peaks of 36 kA to the workpiece. Cabinet losses are limited to 170 W, and air cooling removes heat generated during operation. The housing has an IP20 protection rating, while MOV elements absorb overvoltage spikes on the DC link. The unit complies with climatic class 3K3 under EN 60721-3-3 and operates at ambient temperatures from +10 °C to +55 °C. Storage is permitted between -25 °C and +70 °C, and the maximum service altitude is 2,000 m.
Control resources reside on a standard CPU that stores parameter sets in battery-buffered RAM and provides 256 selectable programs through the INTERBUS I/O and timer interfaces. The inverter supervises up to 32 electrodes and uses integrated temperature monitoring to keep operation within the permitted thermal range. An auxiliary supply provides 24 VDC at up to 2 A for connected field devices, removing the need for a separate 24-volt source. The available program storage supports multiple operating sequences for production equipment that handles different workpieces or process stages. The unit has a mass of approximately 20 kg, allowing installation in cabinets with restricted space and load capacity.
