The PSI6300.360-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. As a variable power stage, the unit converts three-phase mains energy into controlled medium-frequency output that drives induction heating coils, dedicated transformers, or other process loads in automated manufacturing lines. By modulating amplitude and frequency, the inverter supplies precise thermal or magnetic power levels that upstream PLCs and motion controllers request for stable and repeatable process operation.

It draws three-phase input from 400 - 480 VAC. For control electronics, it uses a dedicated 24 VDC supply, which helps keep the INTERBUS timer stable when the mains fluctuate. An internal oscillator at 1 kHz sets the switching cadence of the IGBT bridge so harmonic content remains suitable for induction loads. The inverter supplies a nominal output current of 110 A, with peaks to 800 A at its output terminals. Semiconductor losses amount to only 69 W, letting the air-cooled unit remain within operating limits without external chillers. A centrifugal fan guides airflow through internal baffles to protect insulation and support continuous cooling.

Process reliability is supported by an integrated temperature sensor network that triggers shutdown before silicon, bus bars, or windings exceed safe limits, and by MOV overvoltage protection that clamps line surges. The inverter’s secondary circuit can momentarily supply 36 kA, a capacity suited to short, high-energy heating pulses. Safe operation continues in ambient temperatures up to 55 °C, at elevations no higher than 2000 m, and within an enclosure rated IP20. A minimum clearance of 100 mm above and below the housing supports unobstructed airflow and preserves the required cooling path. The INTERBUS timer synchronizes firing sequences with plant control, and the stated humidity capability supports use in humid production halls.
