Product Description:
The PSI6300.324-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Built on a three-phase MF inverter topology, it converts factory power into controlled medium-frequency energy for induction heating, melting, and other process loads that require stable thermal control. By delivering precise current at kilohertz rates, the unit supports automated lines where repeatable process results and synchronized machine actions are required. Its role is to supply the process with controlled energy rather than direct line-frequency power, which helps the connected load respond more consistently during heating cycles.
The inverter accepts a three-phase supply between 400–480 VAC, aligned with industrial low-voltage networks operating at 50/60 Hz. Its logic circuitry is powered from a separate 24 V DC control supply, which keeps the control electronics independent from the main power path during switching events. The IGBT bridge commutates at 1 kHz, setting the output resolution and the size of the associated filter components. Maximum output current reaches 800 A, so busbars and downstream conductors must support high pulse duty without excessive temperature rise. Thermal data show a basic cabinet loss of 69 W that rises to 170 W at full load, and together with ancillary chokes, the air-cooled design must dissipate a maximum cooling loss of 360 W, so the enclosure needs adequate airflow.
During fault conditions, the power stage can withstand 36 kA of secondary current, while continuous service is limited to a nominal system current of 110 A. The IP20 housing uses power terminals rated to 50 mm² and separate signal connections for the 35 mm² wire range, helping keep high-current and low-current paths clearly separated inside the cabinet. At least 100 mm of installation clearance is required to preserve airflow, enabling operation in ambient temperatures up to 55 °C without derating. A built-in INTERBUS timer synchronizes gating patterns with external controllers so phase-related switching events can stay aligned with the rest of the automation system. This layout supports orderly cabinet routing and helps maintain consistent cooling around the power section.
