Product Description:
The PSI6300.206-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for cabinet installation, the unit translates three-phase mains power into controlled medium-frequency output that drives induction heaters, melting furnaces, or other process loads within automated production cells. A standard CPU governs the power stage, while a PROFIBUS interface allows the inverter to exchange setpoints, status words, and diagnostic data with a central PLC, ensuring coordinated operation in temperature-regulated or automated process systems.
Incoming utility lines from 400–480 VAC feed the rectifier, and the converter draws up to 110 A under nominal conditions. For short bursts, the primary switching section can accept 800 A to support rapid power ramps, while the matching PSG 3100 transformer delivers up to 36 kA on the secondary, providing the current density required for inductive loads. The IGBT bridge modulates at an output frequency of 1 kHz, a range that minimizes skin-depth variation in heated workpieces while remaining within standard water-cooled inductor design limits. Air-cooled channels guide heat away from the power semiconductors, and operation on TN, TT, or IT supply topologies is permitted so the unit can be used in diverse plant infrastructures.
Thermal management for the enclosure begins with cabinet base losses of 69 W during idle switching; under maximum inverter current, the figure rises to 170 W, and when auxiliary fans are driven at full speed, the total cooling losses can reach 360 W. Busbar clamps accept conductors up to 50 mm², while the minimum recommended cable cross-section is 35 mm² to limit voltage drop. An IP20 housing and a 100 mm clearance zone above and below the chassis provide the necessary access and airflow without requiring sealed or pressurized cabinets.
