The Bosch Rexroth Indramat PSI6300.201-L1 is a medium frequency inverter in the PSI Frequency Inverters series. The PSI6300.201-L1 medium frequency inverter is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the PSI Frequency Inverters series. In automated production lines, it converts fixed mains power into a controllable high-frequency output that drives induction heating coils, welding transformers, or other loads that require precise energy dosing. By combining power conversion, process program storage, and fieldbus connectivity, the unit functions as a compact power stage that can be commanded directly from higher-level PLCs. Its design supports repeatable process cycles in equipment where output energy has to be adjusted quickly from one operating step to the next.
It accepts a three-phase supply of 400 – 480 VAC and draws a nominal mains current of 110 A, so the incoming supply can be sized for the expected electrical demand. An integrated auxiliary supply delivers 24 VDC at up to 2 A, removing the need for an external control transformer for low-power control devices. Control communication and timing are handled through PROFIBUS for both I/O exchange and the internal timer function, allowing synchronous triggering of 256 stored programs from the automation system. The enclosure carries an IP20 rating, so installation must take place inside a switch cabinet, where forced air moves across the heat sinks to maintain temperature. Power terminals require a minimum conductor cross-section of 35 mm² to limit thermal rise at the connection points.
During maximum output duty, the inverter dissipates 170 W as cabinet losses, and its separate cooling path must accommodate up to 360 W of heat removed by the fan assembly. The power stage can handle primary currents as high as 800 A, while the transformer secondary may reach 36 kA, which supports short welding pulses at a primary frequency of 1 kHz. Switch-cabinet standby demand is limited to 69 W, which helps reduce idle power draw when the line is waiting for the next cycle. The output stage and cooling airflow should be matched to the connected transformer and duty cycle so heat can be removed continuously during repetitive production use.
