Product Description:
The PSI6300.176-L1 is a medium frequency inverter built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. As a power conversion stage, it takes three-phase mains energy and supplies a regulated medium-frequency output used in induction heating coils, resistance welding machines, and similar automated processes. By modulating the waveform at a fixed carrier rate, the unit allows precise control of current delivered to workpieces while remaining compact enough for installation inside standard control cabinets.
This inverter switches its output at a carrier of 1 kHz, delivering narrow but repeatable pulses that minimize ripple in the work circuit. It accepts an incoming line of 400 – 480 VAC, covering the common low-voltage range in industrial plants. A maximum output envelope of 800 A lets it energize heavy secondary windings without saturation. The enclosure carries an IP20 degree of protection, so it needs placement in a closed panel away from falling debris or moisture. Control logic, including the programmable timer, is energized by a separate 24 V DC supply, allowing parameter backup and fieldbus communication through the INTERBUS port even when the power stage is locked out.
For transient peaks, the converter’s transformer circuit can deliver up to 36 kA on the secondary side, supporting short-cycle heating profiles. Continuous service is permitted in cabinet air up to 55 °C, provided airflow meets the air-cooled requirement, and the power terminals accept lugs up to 50 mm². Forced ventilation removes about 360 W of heat to the cabinet environment, while the nominal system current is 110 A. The unit also includes internal storage for 256 selectable programs, MOV-based overvoltage protection, a switchgear cabinet loss of 170 W, and a recommended wire range of 35 mm² for auxiliary circuits.
