The PSI6300.155-L1 frequency inverter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Classified as a medium-frequency inverter, it converts plant-level three-phase power into controlled medium-frequency output for tasks such as induction heating, welding, or high-frequency drive systems. In production cells, the unit acts as a link between the mains supply and the resonant load, delivering regulated energy while coordinating with higher-level PLCs through its 24 V logic interface. This arrangement helps the power stage respond smoothly to changing process demand while maintaining controlled energy delivery to the load.

It draws a three-phase supply in the range of 400 to 480 VAC at a line frequency of 50/60 Hz. Under rated conditions, the mains bus carries 110 A, so incoming cables must meet the required conductor size for safe current handling at the input terminals. The inverter’s internal circuits dissipate a basic cabinet loss of 69 W, rising further under load, and all electronics remain enclosed in an IP20 housing. Logic coordination is handled by a 24 VDC output that can source up to 2 A, while integrated temperature monitoring reports overheating events and the phase-to-ground path is permitted up to 480 VAC.

During transient demands, the converter can accept 800 A on the primary side and, when paired with the PSG-3100 transformer stage, deliver up to 36 kA at the secondary terminals. Waste heat from the resonant tank is extracted through an air-cooled channel, and the cooling circuit itself must handle a maximum thermal load of 360 W. A 24 V timer supervises sequence delays and helps coordinate startup with external contactors. The MOV network clamps overvoltage spikes on the phase-to-ground conductors, and the integrated temperature sensors provide continuous thermal supervision during operation.
