Product Description:
The PSI6300.100-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter engineered by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and assigned to the PSI Frequency Inverters series. In induction hardening, melting, and other processes that require adjustable medium-frequency power, the unit converts three-phase mains power into a regulated output that a matching transformer can feed to the work coil. The inverter is installed inside a cabinet and interfaces with plant PLCs through timer lines, providing controlled energy delivery to heating loads while minimizing manual intervention in industrial automation.
The inverter electronics draw a control supply of 24 V DC, while the power stage accepts a mains input of 400 – 480 VAC at 50/60 Hz. A fixed internal clock of 1 kHz sets the switching pattern that shapes the medium-frequency output. Because the inverter has an IP20 enclosure, it must be installed inside a closed cabinet that protects it from conductive dust and unintended contact. Thermal management relies on a water-cooled heat exchanger. During steady operation, the cabinet dissipates 69 W, and heat dissipation increases to 110 W at maximum power. This allows the inverter to operate when the surrounding air temperature reaches 55 °C, provided that the required installation and cooling conditions are maintained.
A dedicated coolant circuit supplies 4 L/min through an M16 × 1.5 threaded connector. The inlet water temperature must not exceed 30 °C so the coolant can absorb the inverter’s maximum heat loss of 420 W. On the electrical side, the output bridge can deliver up to 800 A continuously, while the matching transformer supports a short-duration secondary current ceiling of 36 kA. The nominal system current is 110 A during routine operation. Power cables connect to terminals sized for conductors with a cross-sectional area of up to 50 mm², while the recommended conductor size is 35 mm². A separate timer circuit synchronizes the drive-enable and fault-reset signals with the external control system.
