Product Description:
The PSI62C0.777-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase mains power into a controlled medium-frequency output that drives induction heating coils, furnace transformers, or other high-current process loads in automated production lines. This type of inverter is suited to applications that need repeatable heat delivery under tightly controlled cycle timing. By modulating current at a fixed carrier frequency, the unit allows precise thermal profiles and stable energy management in metallurgical or semiconductor fabrication cells.
During operation, the inverter draws line power within the 400 – 480 VAC range and relies on a separate 24 V DC control supply for its logic circuits. A carrier, or clock, frequency of 1 kHz sets the switching rhythm for the internal IGBTs and directly influences harmonic content and transformer utilization. Thermal loading on the enclosure is limited to 210 W of cabinet loss at maximum power, while water cooling circulates 4 L/min through an internal exchanger to keep the electronics within their intended temperature range. The cooling circuit connects through an M16 × 1.5 threaded port, and recessed mounting supports installation with wire sizes up to 95 mm². An IP20 degree of protection is intended for installation inside a closed cabinet, and an MOV network provides overvoltage suppression on the DC link.
Process loads can demand short bursts of up to 1200 A of output current, while the nominal system requirement is 220 A. On the secondary side of the matching transformer, the converter can energize work coils with peak currents reaching 54 kA. Heat removed from the semiconductor stack reaches 700 W, and the water inlet must stay at or below 30 °C to keep the power devices within their intended operating range. EtherNet timing support permits synchronization with higher-level PLC sequences without dedicated fieldbus adapters.
