Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the PSI62C0.730-W1 as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. This medium-frequency inverter converts three-phase energy into a controllable higher-frequency output for induction heating, hardening, or other automated processes that demand adjustable magnetic power. Installed between the plant mains and the load coil, it allows programmable logic controllers to modulate current and frequency without mechanical switching. The integrated digital gating stage responds quickly to the demands of repetitive production cycles.
The inverter connects to plant supplies rated at 400 to 480 VAC and tolerates a mains frequency of 50 or 60 Hz, so it fits both European and North American distribution systems without additional transformers. Heat is removed through a water-cooled plate that routes coolant directly along the power stage, controls semiconductor temperature, and prevents internal air recirculation. The housing has an IP20 rating, so cabinet mounting is required in dusty areas. An internal auxiliary converter supplies 24 VDC logic power for contactors, sensors, and the Ethernet-based timer interface, eliminating the need for a separate control supply.
The auxiliary rail can deliver up to 2 A, which is adequate for relays or small I/O clusters connected to the inverter. At full load, the power stage dissipates 420 W into the coolant circuit. The heat exchanger must be sized to keep the liquid temperature stable while the ambient temperature remains within +10 to +55 °C.
