Product Description:
The PSI62C0.729-W1 medium-frequency inverter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts plant-level three-phase power into regulated output power for resistance-welding transformers and similar actuators used in automated joining stations. By coordinating current, force, and timing parameters, the unit allows production controllers to execute repeatable welding or pressing cycles in harsh industrial environments.
The inverter accepts a three-phase supply of 400–480 VAC at either 50 or 60 Hz, making it suitable for common low-voltage distribution networks. A water-cooled heat exchanger removes up to 420 W of internal heat loss, helping the cabinet remain within the permitted operating temperature range of +10 to +55 °C under climatic category 3K3. The electronics are protected by an IP20 housing, which prevents accidental contact with internal components while permitting airflow inside the enclosure. Storage and transportation are permitted at temperatures from -25 to +70 °C. Network timing is managed through an Ethernet timer, while diagnostic signal wiring connects to the X1 9-pin D-Sub connector. The controller can store up to 10 electrode-type entries, five individual electrode entries, 10 force-profile values, and nine impulse sequences. Three weld-time blocks and three programmable output events provide additional control over process sequencing.
An integrated supply delivers 24 VDC logic power at up to 2 A, eliminating the need for a separate control transformer. Process data and configuration tables use a 256-step resolution, allowing precise adjustment of pressure stages and stored welding programs. Weld force can be adjusted through the available pressure counts for each stage, while the program memory supports recipe changes between production tasks. The inverter weighs 25 kg, which should be considered when selecting cabinet supports and mounting hardware. Its Ethernet-based timing system coordinates stored process values with the connected automation controller, allowing current delivery and programmed events to follow the required welding sequence.
