The PSI62C0.637-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It is intended for industrial heating applications that require precise regulation of medium-frequency energy. Operating as the power stage between the mains supply and a resonant load, the inverter shapes the output while a DeviceNet timer channel coordinates cycle durations with higher-level controllers. An auxiliary supply built into the same housing powers cabinet logic circuits, allowing sensors and actuators around the workstation to share the enclosure.
Input power is accepted from three-phase networks rated at 400–480 VAC and line frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz. Once the input is rectified, the inverter’s switching bridge is kept within its thermal limits by a water-cooled heat exchanger that channels process water past the semiconductor modules. The integrated auxiliary source provides a stabilized output of 24 VDC at up to 2 A. This output can feed relays, fieldbus nodes, or panel indicators without requiring an external power supply. During production, the unit can operate at ambient temperatures from +10 °C to +55 °C, while DeviceNet scheduling controls the start and end of heating ramps with millisecond accuracy.
The power section is housed in an enclosure rated at IP20, making it suitable for installation inside a switch cabinet with filtered airflow. Under climatic class 3K3 of EN 60721-3-3, the electronics tolerate moderate humidity and noncondensing atmospheric conditions. When the unit is offline, it may be stored at temperatures ranging from -25 °C to +70 °C. The cooling passages can dissipate up to 420 W of heat under continuous load, supporting temperature control within the power section. The unit weighs 25 kg, which must be considered when selecting the cabinet supports and mounting hardware.
