The PSI62C0.630-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase supply power into controlled medium-frequency energy for induction heating, soldering, or hardening equipment used on automated lines. By regulating current and frequency, the unit provides stable thermal profiles that can be sequenced by a PLC, eliminating mechanical gear reductions and increasing energy efficiency. A built-in 24 V auxiliary supply and a sealed power section allow installation close to the load in cabinets equipped with water cooling.
The power stage accepts a three-phase input of 400–480 VAC and operates with factory networks running at 50 or 60 Hz. Internal components are cooled by a closed-loop water-cooled circuit. During continuous operation, the heat exchanger must dissipate up to 420 W of power loss. The housing has an IP20 protection rating, guarding against finger contact and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm while relying on the surrounding cabinet for additional protection. Compliance with climatic category 3K3 under EN 60721-3-3 supports operation in moderate humidity and limited airborne dust. Cooling flow, coolant temperature, and cabinet ventilation must remain suitable for the inverter’s operating conditions.
An integrated supply module delivers a stabilized output of 24 VDC with a maximum current of 2 A, powering contactors, sensors, and the DeviceNet interface that exchanges timer data with higher-level controllers. Continuous operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from +10 to +55 °C. During storage or transportation, the electronics can withstand temperatures from -25 to +70 °C. Despite the welded water jacket and sizable choke cores, the inverter weighs 25 kg. Appropriate lifting equipment should be used when positioning the unit, and the cabinet structure must be able to support its mass securely.
