Product Description:
The PSI62C0.325-W1 medium-frequency inverter is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase factory power into a controlled medium-frequency output that drives induction heating coils, welding transformers, and similar high-current devices used in automated production lines. The design combines power semiconductors, a water-cooled heat exchanger, and an INTERBUS timer interface, allowing the unit to integrate directly with higher-level controllers for precise process regulation.
The inverter accepts a mains voltage range of 400–480 VAC, covering common industrial power supplies. Internal bus capacitors and magnetic components process this input to deliver up to 1200 A of output current for short-term demands, while the nominal system current remains 220 A to keep copper and dielectric temperatures within acceptable limits. A dedicated control circuit requires 24 V DC, isolating logic power from the high-energy section. The power stage operates at a clock frequency of 1 kHz, establishing the switching rate used to produce the medium-frequency output supplied to the load. Thermal management relies on a water-cooled cold plate, and stable operation requires a flow rate of 4 L/min. Losses from the control electronics and auxiliary devices add only 69 W to the enclosure, but the power devices can release up to 700 W into the coolant path, so heat removal must remain continuous. Rated performance is sustained at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C without derating, supporting operation in warm industrial environments.
The cabinet has an IP20 protection rating, which prevents accidental contact with live parts but requires installation inside a suitable electrical enclosure. Line and motor cables terminate on lugs that accommodate conductors up to 95 mm², providing sufficient cross-sectional area for the high currents involved. All functions remain available at altitudes up to 2000 m; above this elevation, reduced air density limits cooling effectiveness and requires further derating. The maximum secondary current at the transformer output is 54 kA, requiring secure bolted electrical connections. The cooling circuit supports a maximum inlet water temperature of 30 °C and uses an M16 × 1.5 connection.
