Product Description:
The PSI6200.740-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter developed by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for induction heating, welding, and hardening lines, the unit converts three-phase mains power into a controlled medium-frequency output that matches coil or transformer requirements in automated manufacturing cells. The inverter communicates with plant controllers through an Ethernet timer interface and uses an internal logic supply for its CPU, allowing precise timing of energy pulses during repetitive production cycles and coordinated process control.
At its input, the inverter accepts a three-phase window of 400 – 480 VAC, which is rectified and switched at a control clock of 1 kHz to create an adjustable medium-frequency waveform. The rectifier segment can deliver a continuous nominal system current of 220 A, while the output stage is rated for a maximum of 1200 A to support short-term peak demands when heating massive workpieces. Logic and sensor circuits are isolated from the power section and draw a nominal CPU supply of 24 V DC, which helps maintain stable control when line conditions fluctuate. This separation between low-voltage control electronics and the power stage also helps reduce the transfer of switching noise into sensitive internal circuits.
Thermal management is handled by a water-cooled heat exchanger that needs a flow of 4 l/min and an inlet temperature not exceeding 30 °C. This cooling arrangement keeps semiconductor junctions within safe limits and permits a calculated secondary current surge of 54 kA on the transformer side. Integrated temperature monitoring trips the control logic if cabinet air rises above 55 °C. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, the housing is prepared for recessed mounting, surge energy is clamped by an MOV network, and 95 mm² bus bars fit the specified wire range for both line and load connections.
