The PSI6200.601-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for induction heating, hardening, and other industrial processes that require controlled medium-frequency power, the unit converts a three-phase supply into a regulated current source for coils or transformers. By integrating into closed-loop systems, it provides stable energy delivery and supports continuous duty inside compact cabinets.
Incoming power from 400 – 480 VAC is switched at a carrier rate of 1 kHz and then shaped into output currents as high as 1200 A for the connected load. The control section runs from a 24 V DC supply, and an internal 24 V rail can deliver 2.5 A for sensors or relays. Water cooling removes switching losses, and a flow of 4 l/min keeps the power modules below the maximum inverter temperature of 55 °C when cooling water stays below 30 °C. The IP20 protection rating allows installation inside electrical enclosures, and the wire terminations accept conductors up to 95 mm² for low-impedance connections. A nominal system current of 220 A supports steady operation, and the unit can momentarily pass up to 54 kA on the secondary side to accommodate load transients.
The logic section offers a program capacity of 256 sequential steps, allowing preset power curves and dwell times without an external PLC. For timing duties, a DeviceNet timer supplies 1.5 A continuously and can deliver 2.0 A for 10 ms at startup to trigger contactors. Process water is connected through a M16 × 1.5 thread, which simplifies manifold integration. With a transport weight of 56 kg, the inverter is suitable for reinforced panel mounting near the work coil to help limit cable inductance.
