Product Description:
The PSI61C0.735-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It supplies regulated medium-frequency energy to welding transformers or induction heaters, converting plant power into a form that supports precise thermal profiles in automated lines. A compact, air-cooled chassis houses the power stage and control electronics, allowing integration close to the workcell and helping reduce cable losses in industrial automation layouts.
A TriCore processor coordinates current regulation, timing, and diagnostic tasks while communicating with higher-level controllers through the built-in Ethernet I/O link. The inverter accepts a three-phase supply in the range of 400 – 480 VAC, which matches common factory mains without external step-up devices. The unit has an IP20 rating, so it is intended for installation inside a switch cabinet. Forced convection manages up to 360 W of cooling loss, keeping semiconductor temperatures within safe limits during continuous duty. Internally, the power stage produces a 1 kHz PWM primary waveform, which helps maintain stable secondary current while supporting a compact transformer arrangement. The design also uses air cooling, a three-phase input, Ethernet-based timing, and minimum conductor sizes of 35 mm² on the supply side with 50 mm² terminal clamps on the load path.
The high-current circuit can deliver up to 400 A of primary RMS current, and momentary welding pulses can reach a secondary peak of 20 kA when the inverter is used with a PSG 3100 transformer. Continuous thermal loading is capped at 110 A to help prevent winding degradation during long production runs. Auxiliary electronics receive 24 VDC at 2 A from the built-in power supply, supporting sensors and valves located near the weld head. Up to 256 weld programs are stored in non-volatile memory, and each program can reference 32 selectable electrode pairs so tool changes do not require external re-parameterization. An EtherNet timing bus handles synchronized energy delivery across multi-spot fixtures without requiring proprietary cabling.
