Product Description:
The PSI6100.631-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts fixed three-phase utility power into a controlled medium-frequency output for high-speed spindles and other variable-speed loads used in industrial automation. Conversion electronics, control logic, and an auxiliary 24 V supply are combined in one enclosure, simplifying cabinet layouts in machining centers, packaging lines, and forming equipment. The integrated design also reduces the number of separate power and control components required within the cabinet.
The inverter accepts a three-phase input of 400 to 480 VAC, allowing direct connection to common industrial power systems. It operates with supply frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz, so machines can be used in regions with either standard frequency. The housing has an ingress protection rating of IP20, making it suitable for installation inside a protective electrical cabinet in a clean industrial area. Power losses can reach 360 W, and forced airflow carries heat away from the power devices to help control semiconductor temperatures. Continuous operation is permitted at ambient temperatures from +10 to +55 °C. Operation outside this temperature range may require derating or additional climate control within the enclosure.
The integrated power supply delivers 24 VDC with a maximum output current of 2 A, reducing the need for a separate low-voltage source for compatible auxiliary devices. The unit meets climatic classification 3K3 according to EN 60721-3-3, which supports operation under moderate humidity, nonconductive dust, and low vibration. Permitted storage and transportation temperatures range from -25 to +70 °C. The air-cooled design requires adequate cabinet ventilation and sufficient clearance around the airflow passages. Timing and diagnostic signals connect through the DeviceNet timer port for communication with a compatible PLC or control system. The assembled unit weighs 20 kg, which must be considered when selecting the mounting surface and cabinet hardware.
