Product Description:
The PSI6100.610-L1 medium-frequency inverter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for industrial automation cells that need controlled medium-frequency power, the unit conditions three-phase mains energy and delivers a regulated output to induction heaters, weld guns, or similar loads. By combining the power stage, protection functions, and communication slots in a single cabinet, it streamlines installation in production lines where compact drives are required.
Operating from a three-phase supply of 400 – 480 VAC, the inverter draws a nominal system current of 110 A and can provide up to 400 A on its output bus for rapid transfer to the secondary circuit. A switching clock of 1 kHz sets the modulation frequency applied by the power electronics. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, so it must be installed inside a cabinet that is free of conductive dust. Drive intelligence is supervised through an I/O interface that accepts parallel, serial, or fieldbus cards, and the internal timer is implemented on a DeviceNet node for synchronized control. An MOV network guards the DC link against overvoltage, integrated temperature sensors report component heat, and an air-cooled path moves air through the heat sink to maintain silicon limits.
Thermal losses are based on a basic cabinet dissipation of 69 W, while the heat exchanger must be sized for a maximum cooling loss of 360 W during full-load operation. On the secondary side, the transformer can experience surge currents as high as 20 kA, allowing the inverter to energize resistance welders without saturating its output stage. Power terminals accept conductors up to 35 mm², and the recessed mounting arrangement positions the converter flush with switchgear panels to shorten busbar paths and lower electromagnetic emissions. Spare clearance inside the enclosure also improves access to control cards.
