The PSI6100.352-L1 medium-frequency inverter is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for induction heating, welding, and other precision energy delivery tasks, the unit converts fixed mains power into controlled medium-frequency output for automated machinery. Its three-phase topology and interface options allow integration with drive controllers and fieldbus modules in manufacturing cells. The enclosure supports cabinet mounting where airflow can pass through the integrated cooling channels.

It accepts three-phase mains feeds between 400-480 VAC and operates correctly on utility frequencies of 50/60 Hz. A gated IGBT bridge driven at a switching frequency of 1 kHz converts this input to medium-frequency output. The control section uses a separate 24 V DC logic supply, which helps protect signal electronics from mains transients. During transient heating or brazing cycles, the power stage can source up to 400 A. Base cabinet loss is limited to 69 W, total cooling loss may rise to 360 W, air cooling moves heat through finned channels, and MOV arresters clamp overvoltage events on the DC link. The enclosure has an IP 20 rating, making it suitable for protected control cabinets where accidental contact is a concern but high ingress protection is not required. Reliable operation is permitted at ambient temperatures up to 55 °C and site elevations up to 2000 m, provided airflow remains unobstructed. The air-cooled layout supports cabinet installation with clear ventilation paths, and the terminal arrangement accepts heavy supply conductors for modular heating systems.
