Product Description:
The PSI6100.350-L1 medium-frequency inverter is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as a member of the PSI Frequency Inverters series. In automated production lines, it converts fixed-frequency, three-phase mains power into a controllable medium-frequency output. This output drives induction heating coils, resonant power supplies, and other equipment that requires adjustable high-frequency power. The conversion process allows connected equipment to receive controlled power for coordinated industrial operations.
The inverter accepts a supply of 400–480 VAC at 50/60 Hz, matching common plant distribution networks without transformers. Thermal management is handled by air-cooled ducting that removes up to 360 W of internal losses and keeps semiconductor junctions within their operating limits. The enclosure has an IP20 degree of protection, so it must be mounted inside a cabinet but does not need additional protection against finger contact. The unit is assigned climatic category 3K3 under EN 60721-3-3, indicating suitability for clean, temperature-controlled workshops with moderate humidity. Control and diagnostic data are exchanged over the INTERBUS timer interface, allowing the inverter to synchronize with higher-level controllers for coordinated process timing. This interface supports the exchange of operating commands and status information between the inverter and the connected control system.
An integrated power supply simplifies auxiliary wiring by providing 24 VDC at up to 2 A for external relays, sensors, or fieldbus couplers. Reliable operation is maintained between +10 °C and +55 °C, while strategic component spacing and conformal coatings protect the unit during storage or transit at temperatures from -25 °C to +70 °C. With a shipping mass of 20 kg, the unit requires secure panel support and appropriate handling during installation. The integrated auxiliary output reduces the need for a separate low-voltage supply within the control cabinet. Its internal component arrangement also supports airflow around heat-producing parts while maintaining the required electrical clearances.
