Product Description:
The PSI6100.211-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts plant-level three-phase power into controlled medium-frequency energy for induction heating, welding generators, and similar automation tasks that require precise current and timer coordination. By combining a power stage, fieldbus interface, and local input and output connections in one enclosure, the unit serves as a compact drive component for production cells that synchronize high-frequency loads with motion or process controllers.
The inverter connects to three-phase mains rated at 400–480 VAC and accepts a line variation of -15% to +10% at either 50 Hz or 60 Hz. Under rated conditions, it draws 110 A, while an air-cooled heat sink removes up to 360 W of losses. The IP20 housing provides protection against accidental contact, and cables measuring at least 35 mm² must be clamped with 6 to 8 Nm of torque. Control wiring is simplified by an integrated 24 VDC supply that can provide up to 2 A for sensors or relays. Machine signals reach the drive through 16 digital inputs and an equal number of digital outputs, while PROFIBUS-DP handles higher-level commands. The internal timer function also uses a PROFIBUS profile. The electronics meet climatic class 3K3 under EN 60721-3-3 and remain functional at operating temperatures from +10 °C to +55 °C.
On the output side, the converter delivers a primary frequency of 1 kHz, supporting rapid energy transfer to workpieces. Momentary demand peaks are covered by a maximum primary current of 400 A, and compatible PSG 3100 transformers can supply secondary currents of up to 20 kA to the load coil. The inverter has an installation weight of 20 kg, which must be considered when selecting mounting hardware and cabinet supports. The assembly can be stored or transported at temperatures from -25 °C to +70 °C without performance loss. Adequate cooling airflow must be maintained around the heat sink during operation so that the inverter can dissipate its rated power losses.
