The PSI6100.200-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. It converts three-phase mains power into a regulated medium-frequency output that can drive induction heating equipment, resonant power supplies, or other automated processes requiring adjustable kilohertz ranges. When integrated into a production cell, the unit acts as a power interface between the plant distribution network and process controllers that require high-frequency modulation. Its water-cooled design manages the heat generated during continuous operation and rapid changes in the duty cycle.
The inverter connects to industrial feeders rated at 400 to 480 VAC, and its internal rectifier and inverter stages can operate from either 50 or 60 Hz utility service without derating. A built-in low-power supply delivers a 24 VDC control voltage for connected sensors, contactors, or fieldbus couplers. This supply provides up to 2 A for compatible control devices. Because the power semiconductors are water-cooled, the heat exchanger must dissipate up to 420 W of cooling losses during continuous operation. This cooling arrangement supports a compact installation while keeping semiconductor junction temperatures within permitted limits at full load.
The cabinet has an IP20 protection rating, so the inverter must be securely mounted in an enclosed panel that protects it from dust and dripping fluids. It meets climatic classification 3K3 according to EN 60721-3-3, supporting operation in industrial indoor environments. The permitted operating temperature ranges from +10 to +55 °C, with natural convection removing heat from the cabinet interior. During storage or transportation, the inverter can withstand temperatures as low as -25 °C. PROFIBUS timing hardware is included for synchronous command exchange with higher-level controllers, eliminating the need for a separate communication module. The inverter weighs 25 kg, which facilitates mounting and the routing of coolant lines and field wiring within the enclosure.
