The PSI6100.152-L1 belongs to the PSI Frequency Inverters series manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. As a medium-frequency inverter, it converts three-phase utility power into a regulated output suitable for induction hardening generators, RF welders, and other industrial processes that require controlled kilohertz frequencies. Integrated 24 V timing circuitry coordinates the inverter with external control logic, while an internal 24 VDC power supply feeds sensors and interface relays without requiring an auxiliary supply. This arrangement allows the unit to manage process timing and provide low-voltage power from within the drive cabinet.
The power stage is designed for mains feeders rated at 400–480 VAC and accepts a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz, allowing operation with either common utility frequency. An integrated auxiliary supply delivers up to 24 VDC at a continuous current of 2 A, so low-voltage field devices can be powered directly from the drive cabinet. During operation, semiconductor switching and magnetic components dissipate as much as 360 W, and forced airflow removes this heat through the chassis. The air-cooled design avoids the pumps, hoses, and external heat exchanger required for liquid cooling. Adequate clearance around the ventilation openings is necessary to maintain airflow when the inverter is installed near other automation equipment.
The housing has an ingress protection rating of IP20, which makes live parts finger-safe but requires the unit to be installed inside a clean electrical enclosure. The unit supports climate class 3K3 according to EN 60721-3-3, making it suitable for production areas with moderate humidity and nonconductive dust. Reliable operation is permitted from +10 to +55 °C, while storage is permitted from -25 to +70 °C when the inverter is not operating. With a mass of 20 kg, the chassis can be mounted on a suitable DIN rail or shelf that is rated to support its weight. The mounting arrangement must also preserve access to power terminals, control wiring, and ventilation passages.
