Product Description:
The PSI6100.151-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. In metal-forming and induction-heating lines, it converts a three-phase utility supply into a regulated medium-frequency output for process control. A separate control rail supports the I/O interface, timer functions, and integrated logic used for drive sequencing and fault handling. The inverter connects through terminals that accept conductors up to 50 mm², while internal wiring as small as 35 mm² can be secured without adapters. The enclosure weighs approximately 20 kg, which must be considered when selecting cabinet supports and mounting hardware.
The inverter accepts an input frequency of either 50 or 60 Hz and has a nominal system current of 110 A. Its power stage provides a maximum output current of 400 A, allowing it to support high-current industrial processes. The secondary circuit can withstand fault currents up to 20 kA. An internal oscillator operating at 1 kHz supplies the switching clock used to generate the medium-frequency output. The power electronics operate from a three-phase 400–480 VAC source, while the auxiliary electronics use a separate 24 V DC control supply rated at 2 A. Cabinet losses are 69 W under nominal load and increase to 170 W at maximum power, while total cooling losses can reach 360 W.
Heat is removed through forced-air cooling, and the incoming cooling air must not exceed 45 °C. The inverter carries an IP20 protection rating, which guards against accidental contact with hazardous internal parts but does not protect against water. It meets climate class 3K3 under EN 60721-3-3 and is intended for installation in clean indoor control cabinets. The permissible operating temperature ranges from +10 °C to +55 °C. During storage or transportation, the unit can withstand temperatures from -25 °C to +70 °C. Adequate airflow and cabinet clearance are required to remove the specified heat losses without allowing the internal temperature to rise beyond the permitted operating range.
