The PSI6100.114-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. The unit converts fixed three-phase mains power into a regulated high-frequency output that drives induction heating or resonant power stages in automated equipment. By integrating an internal timer interface, the inverter can be synchronized with external control logic for precise cycle initiation and shutdown. This arrangement allows the inverter to receive sequencing commands directly from the machine control system while keeping timing functions within the same chassis.
Its enclosure carries a protection rating of IP20, so the unit must be housed in a cabinet when airborne dust or dripping water may be present. The air-cooled design removes process heat without requiring external liquid circuits. The supply side accepts three-phase power from 400 to 480 VAC grids and operates at 50 or 60 Hz, allowing the same model to be used with common industrial power systems. During operation, the internal power electronics generate up to 360 W of heat loss, which must be considered when sizing panel ventilation. Reliable output is maintained at ambient temperatures from +10 to +55 °C; operation outside this range may require derating. The integrated auxiliary supply provides 24 VDC at a maximum current of 2 A, allowing contactors, sensors, and the inverter’s timer circuits to operate without a separate auxiliary source. For sequencing tasks, the timer section uses the same logic supply, simplifying connections to PLC digital outputs. The inverter weighs 20 kg, so the cabinet structure and mounting hardware must be able to support its mass securely. Suitable lifting equipment can reduce the risk of damage while the unit is positioned inside an enclosure. When powered down, the assembly can be stored or transported at temperatures from -25 to +70 °C without damage, provided that condensation is prevented. Adequate spacing around the air passages is necessary to maintain unrestricted airflow during operation.
