The PSI6100.000-W1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed to condition three-phase mains power into controlled medium-frequency power, the unit serves automation tasks that need adjustable energy for induction heating, special machine tools, or test stands. A built-in power section converts the incoming line voltage, while an onboard 24 V auxiliary supply energizes contactors, sensors, or a higher-level controller, allowing the inverter to be integrated without an external control supply.
The inverter connects to industrial mains between 400 and 480 VAC, allowing direct installation in common low-voltage switchgear. It synchronizes with utility networks operating at 50 or 60 Hz, so no frequency converter is needed upstream. Control circuits are powered by an internal supply that delivers 24 VDC at a maximum current of 2 A, eliminating the need for a separate DIN-rail regulator for I/O devices. Heat generated by the power semiconductors is removed through the water-cooled heat exchanger, and the residual thermal load transferred to the cooling loop is limited to 420 W. This value supports the proper sizing of chillers or facility water circuits so the inverter can maintain suitable junction temperatures during continuous operation.
The housing has a protection class of IP20, which provides protection against accidental contact with live parts but requires installation in an enclosed cabinet where dust or splashing may occur. Component selection meets climatic classification 3K3 according to EN 60721-3-3, corresponding to factory environments with moderate humidity and vibration. Reliable operation is permitted at temperatures from +10 to +55 °C. The unit may be stored or transported at temperatures from -25 to +70 °C, provided condensation is prevented.
