Product Description:
The PSI6100.000-L1 is a medium-frequency inverter produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the PSI Frequency Inverters series. Designed for induction melting, heat-treatment furnaces, and other installations that need controlled medium-frequency power, the unit converts three-phase mains power into regulated output power that a matching transformer delivers to the work coil or load. Its role in an automation line is to supply stable current and coordinate with PLC-based controllers for process timing, temperature control, and energy management.
It draws a three-phase supply at 400–480 VAC, and the power section is rated for a continuous nominal current of 110 A, with peaks of up to 400 A during rapid heating or load transients. The input network is protected against surges by a MOV array, while an auxiliary rail at 24 V DC supplies the gating logic and I/O. Internally, the control loop cycles at 1 kHz, and the user parameter memory holds 256 steps, allowing separate programs for different alloys or batch sizes. A 3.6 V lithium battery powers the real-time clock, helping the controller maintain accurate dwell and soak timing. Air cooling limits the heat generated by the switching devices, and the forced-air system can remove up to 360 W when the incoming cooling air does not exceed 45 °C. The power stage uses three-phase bridge modules to maintain balanced loading across the supply.
A downstream transformer can draw up to 20 kA on the secondary side, so the inverter has bus bars and terminals sized for the resulting electrical load. The main output lugs accept 50 mm² cable, while the control block accommodates 35 mm² conductors. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, making it suitable for installation inside a standard electrical cabinet that protects it from moisture and airborne contaminants. The unit can operate at ambient temperatures of up to 55 °C. Integrated temperature sensors monitor the heat sink, allowing the controller to respond when thermal limits are approached. Coded digital fault outputs report overcurrent, excessive component temperature, and supply anomalies to the supervisory PLC, allowing the control system to identify abnormal operating conditions and respond appropriately.
